Hi,  sorry been a bit off blog for the past few days, our new baby boy arrived last week!  He is gorgeous and behaving very well indeed so far.  Getting back to things now, got lots to do to prepare for all the new Autumn/Winter collections, much of the new boys clothes collections are now in and will be online very shortly.

Found this site really useful today, lots of work to do with the back to school pages and feeling terrible that children bored, printed them some free piccys off to colour in and both played happily in the office here, colouring and chatting away.  Will definitely be visiting this site a few times over the summer  http://myfreecolouringpages.com/

Angelina Jolie's gorgeous daughter Shiloh has hit the headlines for preferring to wear boys clothes rather than traditional girly dresses and sparkly stuff!  She's not the first to set the trend though, view our facebook album 'not just for boys' showing previous GUY items modelled very nicely by girls  http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=6147172660&topic=4910#!/album.php?aid=62425&id=53227894476  Lots of girls mums buy boys clothes from us for their daughters although I am definitely not against gorgeous girl stuff, bought gorgeous dress for my daughter Hannah from Monsoon for a family weekend away recently although disappointed but not surprised to note that they did not include any of their boyswear range in this particular branch, not great for us mums of boys!

Went to Newquay, Cornwall last week to view O'Neill and Quiksilver boys clothes collections for Spring Summer 2011.  Really impressed as always with these brands, some great items.  Loads of great colours and designs, thr problem is what not to order rather than the other way around!  We always look for items that offer something different from the supermarkets and high street brands, more of a lifestyle choice without the hefty designer price tag!  Quiksilver have some great fabrics too, really dreamy!  Will make our boys even more huggable although my son Guy is getting a bit resistant to motherly affection now, suppose it was only a matter of time!  Collections are all a bit hush hush at the moment but will get some preview images to you as soon as we are allowed, watch this space...

Read this article in The Independent http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/healthy-living/whats-so-bad-about-boys-1983788.html and thought how true it was.  I know of a few women who 'dislike' boys but have never heard someone comment that they would not like daughters in the same way.  It's quite likely that the devaluation of boys in our society spills over in to boyswear with many high street retailers not paying attention to great colour, design and style in the same way that they do with their girlswear.  Read this article and let us know what you think?

My top tip for buying boyswear is to buy bigger sizes than you probably need where possible.  Our son, Guy, is now in his third summer of two or three pairs of his shorts, granted they are now part of his 'garden only' wardrobe as they are slightly on the small side and stained with evidence of his various muddy exploits!  However they are still perfectly wearable and I put this down to the fact that they are good quality, I certainly wouldn't have managed the same amount of wear from a 'cheap' brand.  The better quality shorts have therefore proved to be better value.  It also helps if you really like an item, you're much more likely to keep hold of it at the end of a season if there's a chance of it fitting rather than sending it to the clothes bank! Things to bear in mind though are adjustable waistbands on shorts and trousers as the larger sizes can then be adjusted to fit.  Some boys clothes don't lend themselves so well to buying bigger but the best ones are shorts, t-shirts and coats.  We want your top tips..
